Do you know what the most important game is that you’ll ever play?
It’s the Game of Life! And to me, it’s about building your BEST DARN LIFE!
But guess what? Most people don’t know how to play this game, or who to play it with!
And that’s why the topic I want to talk about today is so important. It’s about something that we don’t always know how to do, or think we have TIME to do. Usually, we go about our day-to-day, checking off our list, getting things done, and making positive changes in our lives and in others’ when and where we can (if we even consciously think about it!).
But when was the last time that you stopped to REALLY think about your life, and what you’re doing with your time?
Can you even remember?
So this is what I want to talk about today: YOUR life, how you can assess your life, and how I can help you design your own Best Darn Life, so you can really get yourself in the game.
Sounds great, right?
A Map towards a completely Best Darn Life!
Here’s the key. Our life is made up of environments, and these environments are everything.
Environments are all connected, they have energy, and they either pull you forward or hold you back. And environments are stronger than willpower.
Let me repeat that and summarize:
I know you may be wondering what the heck I’m talking about, but this is a fundamental principle that I teach. It has changed my life, along with the lives of many, many other people.
If I were to tell you that I have a map to your Best Darn Life, a map that will show you how to get to where you want to go, a map that will give you the answer to what’s next, would you want it?
Of COURSE you would!
And it all starts with an assessment to help you learn more about yourself and how you’re “doing” life.
After all, if I were to say to you you, “Hey, let’s have a coaching session, let’s sit down and you tell me about your life. Tell me about everything that’s in your life: what’s working, what’s not,” you’d probably be overwhelmed and think that’s way too much!
Instead, there’s a simpler way to do this: You can take the Best Darn Life Assessment (BDLA) that guides you through the nine environments in your life. You answer 10 questions in each of the environments, you rate those environments, and THEN you and I have a conversation about what you learned, and where to go next.
When we have that conversation, what’s going to be very apparent to you is what you’ve set up that’s working. That’s awesome. That’s supporting you. Recognizing that is super important.
What’s also going to appear are opportunities: opportunities to fix what is broken, what might be holding you back, what might be in disrepair, and what might be kicking your butt. When we’re done with the whole assessment, we’ll be able to discuss what your next steps are.
That’s what coaching is about: Creating some awareness around what is, then making a decision getting clear on what you want, and creating commitments to take action and get results.
